The future presents great opportunities for nanotechnology applications and The Nanoplate Company aims its efforts to leverage the potential that lies ahead. It cooperates with various companies in the following areas: environmental protection, health and hygiene, green enterprise, medical implementations, tracking and detection technologies and geometric plating; it does so by developing dedicated products, among them:
Hygiene related solutions
Nanoplate provides simple solutions for large problems such as anti-bacteria plating and various supplements. It develops sturdy chemical free apparatuses that can withstand ultra-violet radiation for the purpose of sterilization in hospitals, public areas and private homes.
Hygienic Coatings
The company manufactures photo-catalytic products that can turn normal walls into air-purifying devices by using simple spraying methods (similar to paint spraying methods) that can keep bad odor out and eliminate bacteria and spreading moldy areas. The methods used in this process are triggered by light to keep naturally occurring threats using natural methods.
Energy efficient plating
As part of an international effort to reduce energy consumption, nanotechnology provides a simple solution to reduce energy loss. a nano-particle dye was developed that is capable of reducing energy loss by 30%. This dye has an additional advantage – it functions as bacteria and mold growth inhibitor.
Photo-catalytic function of nano-titanium dioxide (TiO2)
The photo-catalytic property of Titanium dioxide was discovered in the seventies of the previous century. The substance reacts with organic pollutants and breaks up into un-harmful side products of carbon-dioxide and water. This kind of behavior is similar in its core to the photosynthesis process that occurs in plants. It is possible to apply the material with relatively simple methods such as spraying or squirting on top of inside or outside walls. The freshly coated surface will then have properties of self-cleaning – when wet as a result of self-initiated action or by rain; broken up molecules get washed up while the coating remains intact. Such surfaces have already been implemented in Japan and other countries. Fronts of buildings coated with the material can keep moldy blemishes and bacteria away for a period of up to a decade. It is possible to exploit the material also for wide metropolitan areas to reduce the detrimental conditions such as air pollution, smog and the likes. Two such initiatives are already in place in Los Angeles and Milano, Italy.
Easy to Clean coatings
The nanotechnology field has bred a totally new family of coats with the Lotus effect (the ability to highly repel water as shown by the leaves of the Lotus plant.) Such behavior enables water and oil to be repelled from virtually any type of surface; making it impervious to dirt and stains while allowing easy cleaning. The surfaces could be made up of fiber, metal, glass or any natural or synthetic building material. Low maintenance coats not only make our lives easier, safer (increase car wind-shield visibility), they are also environmentally friendly, reducing significantly the use of cleaning materials in the house and the different industries (energy, food, and household).
Engineering Coatings
Using its extensive experience in the realms of electrochemistry and electroplating, Nanoplate offers new technologies of improved geometrical coatings; not only do they conform to strict environmental codes but they also offer better performance under heavy-duty conditions and better corrosion resistance and lower friction coefficients etc.
Water purification
Recently, water has become a precious commodity; water may contain different pollutants – biological or non-organic. Water can get polluted in many ways: naturally occurring, as result of improper storage or contact with humans. It is possible to prevent such occurrences and find the proper treatment. Nanoplate offers a few simple solutions aimed at preventing and neutralizing contagious pollutions in our water as result of unfavorable storage conditions. These kinds of solutions can benefit animal farms, swimming pools, water reservoirs, water containers and more. The company is currently employing such solutions for sea-water desalinization and water recycling.
Anti-bacteria supplements
Harmful activity of bacteria and viruses exists almost everywhere, starting with keyboards and children’s toys and certainly in a much larger scope around public places like hospitals and public rest rooms. A Japanese technology provides us with a new family of supplements that can be inserted into anti-bacteria products, i.e. dyes, plastic material and various other substances (ceramic, rubber etc.). These products have been scientifically proven and are safe for use.
